Axar.az reports that the statement came from Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

Kadyrov said Putin believed in him and that his actions did not contradict Islam.

“Am I doing what Islam forbids? Religion calls me to serve such a president. "If you are allowed to build a mosque and study religion, then you must protect this state and its president," Kadyrov said.
