Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised state awards to servicemen involved in a special operation in Ukraine.

Axar.az informs that Putin said he had visited the wounded soldiers at the Defense Ministry's hospital and instructed them to support them and their families.

"I have just met with our servicemen who are undergoing treatment. Most of what I'm talking about has no state awards. Of course, they will," Putin said.

Putin also said that regardless of the state awards they receive, they are people who risk their health and lives for the "people" of Donbas and their children in the name of Russia: "They are all heroes. Exactly. Everyone is putting their lives in mortal danger. It goes for it consciously. And they must be treated as heroes."
