Kherson will be released

Russia is moving part of its forces to the Donbas. There are prospects for the Ukrainian army to liberate Melitopol and Kherson.

Axar.az reports the statement came from the former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service, General of the Army Nikolai Malomuj.

According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carry out counter-attacks mainly in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Melitopol. It was from these directions that the Russians sent their forces to Donetsk and Luhansk:

"Their main task is to capture the Donbas first, and then move south. We are also using the situation to strike in the south - in the direction of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Melitopol. This is a very right step. It is necessary to intensify counter-attacks in these areas, especially from the rear and flanks.

According to him, the Ukrainian army will choose a different tactic to liberate the southern cities:

"We must not attack cities directly, in neighborhoods where people live," he said. In other words, we need operations to besiege the enemy, not direct attacks on Kherson and Melitopol.
