Russia and Ukraine have started peace talks.
Axar.az reports that Seymour Hersh, a well-known American journalist, made this claim.
He said in his article that negotiations are being held between the head of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov and the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
"Serious peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine have accelerated," Hersh noted.
He wrote that the leading force of these negotiations is not Washington or Moscow, but two high-ranking generals who lead the military operations of the parties.
According to the claim of the American journalist, the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO in exchange for territory and the commitment of the alliance not to deploy its troops and offensive weapons in Ukraine are discussed in these talks.
Hersh says the White House strongly opposes the scheme:
"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is also against it, he believes that he should fight to the end."
