An Azerbaijani citizen has been killed in a drone attack in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that the victim was Ashur Akbarov, originally from the Garmatuk settlement in Azerbaijan’s Lankaran district.

Akbarov, the son of Bahlul Akbarov, was born in October 1951 and had lived in Kyiv for more than 30 years. He was a Ukrainian citizen.

According to the report, Akbarov was driving his private car to work in the morning when he came under a drone attack and was killed at the scene.

Akbarov would have turned 75 on October 13. Efforts are currently underway to complete the necessary documentation to bring his body to Azerbaijan.
