In 2013, the "Eastern Partnership" insisted to Armenia that we should only be with them, but Serzh Sargsyan rejected it.

Axar.az reports that former Prime Minister of Armenia Khosrov Arutyunyan said this.

Kh. Harutyunyan said that the organization suggested Yerevan to act only according to their principles:

"S. Sarkisyan took a smart step and rejected the offer. Our cooperation with the European Union has not affected our relations with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). We benefited from direct access to the expanded Eurasian consumer market. But if we are talking about EU integration, we are very far from that," he said.
