Two days of national mourning has been declared in the country due to the death of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Chong.

Axar.az reports that the farewell and memorial ceremony will be held on July 25-26.

Farewell and memorial service will be held in Hanoi.

During the two-day period of national mourning, Vietnam's national flags will be flown at half-mast and entertainment events will be canceled in all government offices and public places in the country.

It should be noted that Nquen Fu Chong died on July 19 at the age of 81. He headed the government of Vietnam in 2016-2021, and was later elected the country's President. Nquen Phu Chong has been the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the ruling Communist Party of Vietnam since 2011.
