LASK win Austrian title after 60-year wait

LASK have been crowned Austrian Bundesliga champions, ending a 60-year wait for the title.

Axar.az informs that the Linz-based side sealed the championship after a convincing 3-0 away win over Austria Vienna, finishing the season at the top of the table.

The visitors’ goals came from Xavier Mbuyamba in the 38th minute, Samuel Adeniran from the penalty spot in the 49th minute, and Melayro Bogarde in the 76th.

With the win, LASK moved to 39 points and maintained their lead over closest rivals SK Sturm Graz to officially secure the title.

It marks LASK’s first Austrian league title since 1965.
