Germany to build 4,000-troop base in Lithuania

A military base capable of housing 4,000 German soldiers is being built in Lithuania. The project is set to be completed by the end of 2027.

Axar.az informs that Reuters reported this news.

Lithuanian Armed Forces Chief Commander Raimundas Vaiksnoras stated that over 1 billion euros will be spent on constructing the base over the next three years:

'The base, being built near the village of Rudninkai, will include shooting ranges, hangars for tanks, and other facilities. The military complex will cover an area of 170 hectares.'
