Germany's Siemens has refused to supply critical equipment for the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which is being built in Turkey by Russia's Rosatom.

Axar.az informs that Bloomberg reported on this issue.

Siemens was supposed to provide a gas-insulated substation to transmit the electricity generated by the plant to the grid. Due to months of delays, they now have to search for the equipment in China, the report stated.

Bloomberg also mentioned that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has approached German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about the matter, but the issue remains unresolved.

A Siemens representative stated that the company is complying with export control regulations.
