The Ukrainian army's attack in the Kursk region has not ceased. The next major battle is starting for the Russian settlement of Korenevo.

Axar.az informs that Julian Röpke, an expert from Bild, reported this.

He stated that while the Kremlin claims Ukraine's attack has stopped, evidence to the contrary is increasing:

'On the morning of August 20, the Russian "Northern" group's Telegram channel released a video showing Ukrainian military units operating 300 meters from the entrance to the village of Korenevo (19 km from the border). The video depicted four Ukrainian vehicles being fired upon, with two of them destroyed. This confirms that Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun fighting for Korenevo, which they have been approaching for several days.'

Röpke mentioned that losing Korenevo would impact Vladimir Putin's reputation even worse than losing Suga:

'Unlike Suga, he cannot blame the sudden attack and lack of preparation for defense. After two weeks of fighting in the Kursk region, the Russian army has been brought to combat readiness and has deployed thousands of additional soldiers to the area. Losing to Ukrainian forces in this situation would be a severe embarrassment for the Russian military leadership.'

The expert also noted that the Ukrainian army is advancing in other directions:

'After confident battles northeast of Sudja, Ukrainian troops have taken control of the village of Martynovka. This village is located on the P200 highway leading directly to Kursk. The village was defended by Chechen units and was crucial as a starting point for a potential counteroffensive against Sudja. The threat from Martynovka is now rapidly diminishing for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
