The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, assessed the recent events in Georgia as a "constitutional coup".

Axar.az reports that according to him, the Georgian Dream government is no longer hiding anything, it openly declares its refusal to negotiate with the EU:

"The constitutional coup, which has been going on for several weeks, maybe months, has ended today. Today, the road from Europe to Russia is over.

All doubts that people might not be like that, that there might be another explanation, have disappeared today. Today, this illegitimate government has declared war on its people, its past and its future. On this path, Georgia has no future except for state sovereignty, independence and Russia."

It should be noted that today the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, announced that his country has suspended EU membership negotiations until 2028 and has refused European grants.

Following this news, Zurabishvili held an urgent meeting with EU diplomatic missions in Georgia. The opposition started an action in front of the head office of Georgian Dream and the parliament building.
