France has issued an arrest warrant for Syria's former president Bashar al-Assad, accusing him of being involved in bombing civilian structures in the country in 2017.
Axar.az reports that this information was provided by the "France Press" agency.
According to the report, the warrant was issued at the request of the French National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office, investigating the death of 59-year-old French-Assyrian Salah Abu Nabou.
The prosecutor's office stated that Salah Abu Nabou died in 2017 as a result of an attack by Syrian army helicopters on his house in the Daraa province.
It should be noted that this is the second arrest warrant issued by France for Assad.
