China slams US tariffs as protectionism in White Paper

China has released a white paper strongly criticizing the United States for imposing over $500 billion in tariffs on Chinese exports since 2018, labeling the actions as "unilateralism and protectionism."

Axar.az reports that the move comes in response to the Trump administration’s latest escalation — a new 104% tariff on Chinese goods.

The document, titled “China’s Position on Some Issues Concerning China-US Economic and Trade Relations”, argues that these U.S. measures disrupt global trade and violate market principles. It warns of severe consequences for bilateral trade and emphasizes China’s commitment to resolving disputes through dialogue.

In retaliation, China has imposed its own tariffs on $23.6 billion worth of U.S. goods.
