Putin reportedly unhappy with FM's performance

Russian President Vladimir Putin is dissatisfied with the way the Ministry of Foreign Affairs defends the country's position in the international arena. Interestingly, even at the Istanbul talks, the head of the Russian delegation was not one of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials, but Putin's assistant Medinsky.

Axar.az reports that the "Insider" Telegram channel published information about this, citing sources.

"This is a diagnosis for the ministry. Now, candidates for the positions of heads of departments and deputy heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are selected from among young and ambitious personnel. Moreover, there has been increased talk about the need for Minister Sergey Lavrov to retire early, giving way to young people. For example, Kirill Dmitriyev from the Russian Direct Investment Fund. Thus, in 2026, we can expect serious changes," the channel said.
