French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, have filed a 22-count defamation lawsuit in Delaware, USA, against right-wing podcaster Candace Owens.

Axar.az reports citing CNN.

The lawsuit accuses Owens of spreading a false conspiracy theory that Brigitte Macron is secretly a man, which she promoted in YouTube videos, merchandise, and social media.

Despite repeated requests over a year to stop, Owens continued broadcasting the claims—including a series titled "Becoming Brigitte"—and allegedly monetized them for personal gain. The Macrons argue that Owens' actions caused them serious emotional distress, reputational harm, and economic loss, and they are seeking punitive damages.

Owens has dismissed the lawsuit as a "PR stunt" and continues to mock the case online.
