At least 48 people have died in a severe road accident in Nigeria.

Axar.az reports that this information was published by the “Punch” newspaper.

It was reported that in Niger State, a fuel tanker collided with another vehicle carrying passengers, resulting in a fire.

According to Abdullahi Baba-Araba, the Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency in Niger State, the bodies of at least 48 people, burned beyond recognition, were buried on the same day in accordance with Muslim customs.

The total number of dead and injured has not yet been determined. Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing at the scene.
