The information spread on the Armenian Telegram channels about the alleged opening of fire in the direction of the Gorus region of the state border by the units of the Azerbaijani Army and the damage to the civil infrastructure, as a result, has no basis and does not reflect the truth.

Axar.az reports citing MoD that according to the information, units of the Azerbaijani Army do not target civilian infrastructure.

It was noted that in response to Armenia's provocations, the countermeasures are local in nature and directed against legitimate military targets that are firing points:

"Retaliatory measures are small-scale and targeted in nature and aim to ensure the security of Azerbaijan's borders and put an end to Armenia's provocations.

Targeting civilian objects and innocent people is a standard military methodology used by the Armenian armed forces. During the 30-year occupation and the 44-day Patriotic War, it was the Armenian side that deliberately and purposefully targeted the cities and civilian population of Azerbaijan with ballistic missiles and cluster bombs.
