In a joint statement on resolving the conflict in Ukraine, European leaders have called for negotiations to be based on the current front line.

Axar.az reports that the statement was published on the website of the UK Foreign Office.

“We remain committed to the principle that international borders cannot be changed by force. The current line of contact should become the starting point for negotiations,” the statement said.

The document was signed by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
