As reported earlier, on August 11, a phone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.
Axar.az reports that according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the EU High Representative congratulated Azerbaijan on the results of the summit between the leaders of Azerbaijan, the United States, and Armenia, held during the Azerbaijan–Armenia leaders’ meeting in Washington. She praised the signing of the Joint Declaration by the leaders, the initialing of a peace agreement, the joint call for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Process and its related structures, as well as other agreements reached.
It was emphasized that these agreements are of great importance for ensuring peace and stability in the region. Kaja Kallas stated that the EU is always ready to support the advancement of the peace process.
During the phone call, the sides also exchanged views on issues and prospects arising from Azerbaijan–EU relations, as well as on regional and international security matters.
