On September 22, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Bruce Flatt, CEO of Brookfield Asset Management, one of the world's largest alternative investment management companies, in New York.
Axar.az reports that Bruce Flatt said that he was deeply impressed by the economic achievements and development processes he observed in Azerbaijan during his visit to our country in 2023. He emphasized that the successful cooperation of the company he leads with the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan is gradually expanding.
Bruce Flatt conveyed his congratulations on the results achieved in Washington regarding the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and said that this also creates a good opportunity for deepening economic cooperation in the region.
Expressing satisfaction with the successful development of relations established between our country and Brookfield Asset Management, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that this creates broad opportunities for the long-term strategic development of our cooperation.
During the conversation, views were exchanged on Azerbaijan's opportunities in the field of renewable energy and the prospects for our country becoming a regional energy center.
