Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of this country, Antonio Tajani, within the framework of his official visit to Italy.

During the meeting, it was noted with satisfaction that the Azerbaijan-Italy strategic partnership has developed at a high level, and the existing opportunities for expanding bilateral relations were reviewed.
The ministers particularly noted that the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Italy last year and the official visit of Italian President Sergio Mattarella to Azerbaijan in September of this year have further strengthened the political dialogue between the two countries.
In addition, the participation of the Chairman of the Italian Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, in COP-29, and regular meetings between leaders, were recalled with satisfaction.
It was noted that the opening of the new building of the Italy-Azerbaijan University within the framework of Italian President Mattarella's visit to our country is of great importance, and cooperation in the field of education has become one of the important pillars of our strategic partnership.
The ministers reviewed the existing opportunities for expanding cooperation in the fields of energy, economy, trade, transport, culture, education, and defense.
The strategic importance of energy cooperation between the two countries was emphasized, and it was brought to the attention of the attention that large-scale projects implemented in this area play an important role in the reliability of Europe's energy supply.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, peace and stability initiatives in the region, the historical significance of the Washington Joint Declaration of August 8, 2025, and the agreements reached.
The close participation of Italian companies in the restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated territories was noted with satisfaction.
The importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy within the framework of international organizations, including the European Union and other multilateral platforms, was noted.
The opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy were reviewed within the framework of the World Urban Forum to be held in our country next year.
The meeting also exchanged views on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the situation in the Middle East, as well as other international and regional issues of mutual interest.
