Pakistan launched airstrikes on militant camps in Afghanistan after blaming fighters there for recent attacks, including Ramadan suicide bombings.
Axar.az, citing Reuters, reports that Afghanistan’s Taliban said the strikes killed and injured dozens, including women and children, while its defence ministry condemned the attacks as a breach of sovereignty and vowed a measured response.
The escalation follows months of border clashes and the recent release of three Pakistani soldiers by Kabul. Pakistan targeted camps linked to the Pakistani Taliban and Islamic State Khorasan Province, claiming they acted under Afghanistan-based leadership, which Kabul denies.
The tensions have disrupted border crossings and trade along the 1,600-mile frontier.
