Today, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with delegations led by Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Turkiye’s Grand National Assembly, and Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.
Axar.az informs according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the meetings focused on the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan–Turkey alliance relations and Azerbaijan–Georgia strategic partnership, as well as regional security.
The importance of expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation, especially regular contacts between foreign affairs committees, was highlighted. The 10th trilateral meeting of the foreign affairs committees of Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Georgia was noted as giving further momentum to their relations.
The participants also emphasized that trilateral cooperation involving parliaments, foreign ministers, and defense ministers contributes to peace, stability, security, and prosperity in the region. Key discussion topics included energy security, transport and communication projects—such as the development of the Middle Corridor—and regional economic integration.
The meetings also addressed ensuring lasting peace and stability in the post-conflict period, the normalization process, and the role of parliamentary diplomacy.
Bayramov provided updates on the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace and normalization process, outlining the steps taken by Azerbaijan and the country’s expectations.
