On March 5, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev held a phone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

Axar.az informs that during the call, Minister Bayramov emphasized that the drone strikes on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic from Iranian territory, which caused damage to civilian infrastructure and injured individuals, constitute a violation of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Azerbaijan informed Kazakhstan that it expects the Islamic Republic of Iran to clarify the situation, provide an explanation, offer an apology, and take urgent measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Kazakhstan’s foreign minister expressed deep concern over the attacks and voiced hope that tensions would not escalate further.
