The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a statement on the interim decision of the International Court of Justice.
Axar.az reports that the Foreign Ministry that the statement reads:
"The International Court of Justice has granted Azerbaijan's request for temporary measures to ban the incitement of racial hatred by individuals and organizations operating in Armenia, including those targeting Azerbaijanis."
The court basically instructed the Armenian side to take urgent measures to prevent the violation of human rights of Azerbaijanis. The decision was made after a court hearing on October 14-19, 2021.
Azerbaijan welcomes the decision of the International Court of Justice against Armenia and calls on Armenia to immediately implement the decision of the Court.
As for the court's decision on the temporary measures required by Armenia, we would like to emphasize that the court rejected the motions for the immediate release of persons of Armenian origin detained by Armenia, as well as the immediate closure of the Booty Park in Baku.
Azerbaijan will comply with the measures taken by the Court to prevent racial discrimination. Azerbaijan is committed to its obligations under international conventions.
"Azerbaijan will continue to demand that all citizens be protected under international law and that Armenia be held accountable for violations of international law."
