Jeyhun Bayramov hosts Turkish Ambassador

On January 31, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to our country Birol Akgun.

Axar.az reports that according to the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to the Republic of Azerbaijan Birol Akgun presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

It is reported that the Minister congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador of brotherly Turkiye and wished him success in his future activities.

During the meeting, issues arising from the Azerbaijan-Turkiye alliance, as well as regional and international security issues, were discussed.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov drew attention to the exceptional importance of the existing historical, traditional brotherhood and friendship between the states and peoples of Azerbaijan and Turkey in strengthening our alliance, as well as our joint efforts at the regional and international levels.

It was stated that the historic Shusha Declaration, which established the alliance relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkiye, is the embodiment of our existing brotherly and friendly relations. The importance of continuing the activities aimed at further strengthening cooperation in political, security, economic, trade, energy, transport, communications, cultural-humanitarian, etc. aspects of our multidimensional alliance relations, as instructed by our leaders, was emphasized.

It was noted that our joint efforts of Azerbaijan and Turkiye in all international organizations, especially in the Organization of Turkic States, which is considered our common family, are commendable, and that the summit to be held in Azerbaijan this year will serve to further strengthen the organization.

It was stated that efforts to ensure stability in the Middle East and Afghanistan and to promote joint initiatives in Syria are important.

The newly appointed Turkish Ambassador Birol Akgun thanked for the warm welcome and congratulations, and noted that he would spare no effort to further strengthen the existing alliance relations during his tenure as Turkiye's Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

The meeting also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
