An event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s national press was held.
Axar.az reports that the event was organized by the Media Development Agency and was attended by representatives of the media, state institutions, and the public.
At the event, a congratulatory letter from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, addressed to Azerbaijani media representatives on the occasion of July 22 – the 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s national press, was read by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration.
Later, a number of media representatives were presented with the “150th Anniversary of Azerbaijan National Press (1875–2025)” jubilee medal, established by a decree of President Ilham Aliyev. It was also announced that other awardees will receive their medals in the near future.
As part of the event, a video clip was screened, highlighting the stages of media development, historic turning points, and future perspectives, starting from the publication of the Əkinçi (Akinji) newspaper to the present day.
The jubilee celebration continued with an artistic performance.
