Azerbaijan plans to develop its cooperation with Somalia in a trilateral format together with Turkiye.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a joint press conference in Baku with Somali Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali.

“There are very close ties between Turkiye and Somalia in several areas. The two countries enjoy a strategic partnership. Considering Azerbaijan’s strong relations with both nations, the idea of developing trilateral cooperation has been explored,” he said.

Bayramov also emphasized the importance of continuing political consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Somalia, which were last held in 2025.
