Before the deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump for resolving the conflict with Russia expires, internal political changes may occur in Ukraine. This could be linked to the need to redefine Kyiv’s future political course following the decision to limit the independence of anti-corruption bodies.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl.
“As for the ultimatum or deadline set by President Trump, a lot can happen within the next 35 days. I believe this will depend less on relations between Moscow and Kyiv. It might just be speculation, and I don't want to make excessive assumptions. This will be entirely Ukraine’s own decision,” Kneissl emphasized.
It should be noted that Trump had initially given a 50-day deadline to reach an agreement between Russia and Ukraine. Otherwise, he intends to impose 100% trade tariffs on Moscow and its trade partners. However, the American leader recently announced he would shorten the deadline to 10–12 days.
