There will be a geomagnetic storm on September 12-13, and interruptions in the transmission of radio signals can be observed.
Axar.az was informed about this by the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics of Baku State University.
Solar activity has risen to a high level due to M-class flares (which block radio waves and prevent them from spreading) continuously occurring in the Sun.
The coronal mass ejection in the northwest part of the Sun on September 10 will create a geomagnetic storm on Earth starting from the afternoon of September 12 until around 18:00 on the 13th. Interruptions in radio signals, their transmission, and reception can be observed on these dates.
Currently, the geomagnetic field is quiet and unstable. The effects of the coronal mass ejection that took place on September 10 will be felt on Earth on September 12-13. The level of the geomagnetic storm will be G1 (mild) on the night of September 12, G2 (moderate) until 08:00 on September 13, and G1 until 20:00. Later, the geomagnetic field will return to a quiet level.
