The Azerbaijani cultural community has addressed an appeal to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of November 8 - Victory Day.

“We congratulate you on the 5th anniversary of November 8 – Victory Day, which has become a symbol of the historical struggle of our people for the restoration of the freedom, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Azerbaijani lands, and the establishment of justice, and express our endless respect and gratitude to you for this Victory that you have bestowed on the Azerbaijani people.

This glorious Victory, the architect of which you are, is the transformation of the ideal of justice that our people have carried for centuries into reality, the highest peak of the struggle for justice and the triumph of national will before history. For Azerbaijan, the Patriotic War was not just a military, political, diplomatic confrontation, but a testing ground where moral archetypes clashed - justice and injustice, mercy and violence, truth and lies.

The construction and restoration works carried out in Karabakh and East Zangezur under your leadership within the framework of the “Great Return” Program to the lands liberated from occupation demonstrate the determination of our people to build and create. The airfield built in a short time ports, roads, settlements, and social projects are an indicator of the development model of independent Azerbaijan relying on its own strength. This is also a reflection of the intention of the victorious state towards peace, progress, and cultural revival.

The restoration of historical and cultural heritage in the territories liberated from occupation, the restoration of the “Kharibulbul” International Music Festival, Vagif Poetry Days, and other cultural events once again prove that the Victory of Azerbaijan is also the Victory of high culture, unshakable spirit and spirituality. All these, in addition to being important cultural events, are also an expression of national identity, the embodiment of statehood ideas in the cultural code, as well as a manifestation of the great importance the state attaches to national-spiritual and cultural values.

We express our deep gratitude to you for your support, care, and attention to the work carried out to preserve the national-cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people, its worldwide recognition, and high-level representation in the system of international cultural relations.
