Nakhchivan Salt Museum closed after six years

The Nakhchivan Salt Museum has been closed.

Axar.az reports that the museum has ceased its activities.

The reason for the closure is unknown. It is stated that the decision will be implemented within two months.

The museum, operating under the Nakhchivan Ministry of Culture, was established in 2017 by a decision of Vasif Talibov. Its main purpose was to highlight the significance of Nakhchivan salt, systematize the results of scientific research, and preserve and promote material and cultural artifacts obtained during scientific studies.

The museum housed valuable exhibits such as stone tools, stone hammers and pestles, salt bags used for storing or transporting salt, ceramic and clay salt containers, stone mortars, pestles, and other items.

Previously, production and packaging at Nakhchivan Salt Production LLC, under the Nakhchivan Ministry of Economy, had also been suspended.
