Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry has refuted Armenian media reports that an Azerbaijani military serviceman, named Naghiyev Hasan Ali oglu, was killed by an Armenian sniper on 2 July 2017.

The Defense Ministry stated that Naghiyev Hasan Ali oglu indeed served within the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and was demobilized in January 2017, adding that the person is safe and sound and lives in Shamkir.

The Defense Ministry warned that the dissemination of this unverified information on social networks serves the adversary’s interests and is aimed at blackening the image of Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces.
