Ashura commemorations will be held in line with fatwa

The tenth day of Muharram – Ashura that marks the death of Imam Hussain will be commemorated in Azerbaijan in line with the fatwa issued by the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO), Mubariz Gurbanli.

Axar.az reports that it was told by chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations.

“The State Committee has departments and representatives in the districts of the country, and we regularly hold and will continue to hold monitoring in mosques. The monitoring aim to verify compliance with the requirements of the law in mosques,” he said.
