Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has extended his condolences to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Poroshenko's letter reads as follows:

"The horrific news of the death of people in the fire at the drug abuse treatment centre in Baku has aroused a feeling of great sadness in Ukraine. On my own behalf and on behalf of the Ukrainian people, I extend my deepest condolences to the families of those killed and I wish speedy recovery for all the survivors.”

President Ilham Aliyev received another letter of condolences from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov.

"Dear Ilham Heydarovich. On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Tatarstan, I extend my deepest condolences to You over the death of people in the fire at the drug abuse treatment centre in Baku. We share the pain of the families and friends of those killed and I wish patience for them.”
