Each candidate should convey their thoughts to the public through media, said Ali Hasanov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan for Public and Political Affairs.

He made the remarks at a seminar on Monday dedicated to the media’s roles and duties in respect of the upcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan.

In consideration of the candidates’ request, television will determine the duration of live debates for candidates between 21.00 and 23.00 Baku time, Hasanov said. “In the past, debates used to take place at 19.00 and as a result some people were unable to watch the debates,” he added.

The presidential assistant said the media’s role is comparable to the role of candidates.
