On January 2, at about 18:00, in the service area of ​​the Gubadli Special Border Division of the State Border Service (SBS), Sergeant Elkhan Mahammad oglu Avazli, an active-duty serviceman, was shot dead for unknown reasons. The nephews of senior lieutenant Yusif Ismayil oglu Ismayilov, junior sergeant Amil Fuar oglu Jalilzade and junior sergeant Rafail Natig oglu Ibrahimov were handed over to their families today.

The killed border guards were buried in their hometowns and districts, Axar.az reports.

It should be noted that Sergeant E. Avazli threw his weapon and fled the scene. He was detained at about 00:30 at night in the Malkhalaf village of Lachin region.

Employees of the State Border Service and the Prosecutor General's Office are taking appropriate measures in connection with the incident.
