Turkiye's National Defense Minister Yashar Guler visited Azerbaijan's embassy in Ankara following the plane crash.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.

It was stated that Yashar Guler, along with the Chief of General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Metin Gurak, and other officials, conveyed their condolences to Azerbaijan's Ambassador Rashad Mammadov and expressed their sympathy to the people of Azerbaijan.

"Azerbaijan and Turkiye have shared joy and sorrow together throughout history with the understanding of 'one nation, two states.' In difficult times, they have supported each other and stood shoulder to shoulder, no matter what. Today, we deeply feel the pain of our brotherly Azerbaijani people in our hearts and share the same sorrow. As Turkiye, we want to emphasize once again that we are by our brothers' side during this difficult process," Y. Guler wrote in the condolence book at the embassy.

It is noted that on December 25, an AZAL plane, operating the Baku-Grozny flight, was struck by Russian air defense systems over the sky of Grozny and sustained significant damage. Since permission for landing was denied, the plane diverted toward Aktau and crashed near Aktau Airport. As a result of the crash, 38 out of 67 people on board were killed, and 29 survived.
