Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with the Secretary General of the National Security Council of Turkiye, Okay Memis, who is on an official visit to our country.

It was reported that the Defense Minister, welcoming the Turkish guest, expressed his satisfaction at seeing him in our country. He said that the brotherly and friendly relations of the heads of state have made a great contribution to the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, and it is thanks to this that our military relations are at a high stage of development today.

Colonel General Z. Hasanov emphasized the increase in the number of joint exercises involving military personnel of both brotherly countries this year compared to last year.

Expressing his gratitude for the hospitality shown, Mr. O. Memis conveyed the greetings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Defense Minister. He noted the importance of further expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkiye.

The meeting emphasized the positive impact of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations on ensuring peace and security in the region, and other issues of interest were discussed.
