Azerbaijan wins 11 medals at Savate World Championship

With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and in accordance with the 2025 calendar plan, the Azerbaijan Savate Federation achieved successful results at the Savate Assaut Youth World Championship held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from July 23 to 27.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Federation.

According to the information, the Azerbaijani national youth team, consisting of 8 athletes, participated in the championship and achieved high results. The team was led by head coach Taleh Naghiyev.

In the World Championship, in the 60 kg weight category, Alekber Khanmammadov won gold, while Yusif Khalilzade (48 kg), Umid Zeynalov (52 kg), Mahammad Mammadli (56 kg), Nijat Mammadli (65 kg), Nihat Guliyev (70 kg), Ali Beylarzade (75 kg), and Mahammad Suleymanov (85 kg) won bronze medals — a total of 8 medals.

Results from the World Cup:

30 kg – Raul Huseynzade – Gold medal (Juniors)

85 kg – Beyrek Baghirov – Bronze medal (Seniors)

35 kg – Ibrahim Ibrahimli – Bronze medal (Juniors)

In total, Azerbaijani athletes won 3 medals at the World Cup.
