Ilham Zakiyev wins 9th European title

The European Judo Championship, held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, continues.

Axar.az reports that Azerbaijani parajudoist Ilham Zakiyev (J1, +95 kg) became the champion.

He defeated Moldovan Oleg Kretul in the 1/4 finals.

Zakiyev won the gold medal by defeating Turkey's Gökhan Bizer in the semifinals and finally Moldovan Ion Basoc by ippon in the decisive round.

It should be noted that Zakiyev thus won the title of European champion for the 9th time.
