Azerbaijani female boxers win 9 medals at CIS Games

Today, the women's finals in the boxing competitions of the III CIS Games have concluded.

Axar.az reports that fights for gold medals were held in boxing competitions among women in various weight categories.

6 representatives of the Azerbaijani national team entered the ring for the gold medal. 1 of our boxers finished the tournament with a gold medal, and 5 with a silver medal. Thus, Gular Huseynova, who performed in the 48-kilogram weight category, won the gold medal by defeating Russian Daria Gavrina in the final. Our other boxers - Aysel Farajova (46 kilograms), Amina Taghi (50 kilograms), Jamila Muradli (54 kilograms), Fidan Bakarova (63 kilograms,) and Aynur Ismayilova (60 kilograms) - lost in the final and settled for silver medals.

Earlier, Aylin Nazarova (46 kilograms), Zahra Mammadova (52 kilograms,) and Mirrugeyya Azerpur (57 kilograms) won bronze medals.

Thus, Azerbaijani female boxers finished the tournament with 1 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

In other final fights, Russian boxer Viktoriia Klimova (46 kilograms), Uzbek athletes Nazokat Mardonova (50 kilograms), Sabina Mirzaeva (52 kilograms), Kumriniso Muhammedova (54 kilograms), Farzuna Ruzieva (57 kilograms), and Rushanabonu Isoeva (63 kilograms), and Kazakhstani representatives Jasmin Abramyan (60 kilograms) and Dilyara Tursynbek (66 kilograms) won gold medals.

It should be noted that the boxing competitions will conclude on October 5.
