UEFA bans Russian Youth team from European Championship

UEFA has not allowed the Russian youth team to participate in the European Championship tournament.

Axar.az reports that UEFA has decided on this.

It was reported that in a periodic letter sent by UEFA Secretary General Theodore Theodoridis to all 55 national associations, it was stated that the draw for the first rounds of the qualifying rounds for the Euro 2026/27 tournament among the U-19 age group will be held in Nyon, Switzerland, on December 10 of this year. The letter also included the list of U-19 teams participating. The list includes the names of 54 of the 55 UEFA member countries. Russia was not invited to the draw.

It should be noted that since February 2022, all Russian teams at the national and club levels have been suspended from international competitions for an indefinite period.
