Mircea Lucescu urgently hospitalized

Romanian national team coach Mircea Lucescu was urgently hospitalized this week and is currently under constant medical supervision.

Axar.az informs, citing foreign media, the 80-year-old technician's health problems began with a severe cold he suffered after Christmas, which then affected his heart.

Mircea Lucescu had prepared a very detailed program for this period, considering that in two months the Romanian national team will face Turkey in the semi-final of the World Cup qualifying playoff, which will take place this summer in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

The "tricolor" coach had planned to be present in Antalya during January, where most of the Turkish Super League teams were conducting winter preparations, to closely follow the players he was observing. However, health problems prevented his presence.

It is worth noting that M. Lucescu has been coaching the Romania national team since 2024.
