Qarabag defeats Shamakhi 3:1 to reach semifinals

The second-leg matches of the Azerbaijan Cup quarterfinals are ongoing.

Axar.az reports that on the second match-day Qarabag hosted Shamakhi at home, with the match concluding in a 3:1 victory for the Aghdam side. In the final minute, Shamakhi failed to convert a penalty.

With this result, Qarabag secures a place in the semifinals of the cup. They will face the winner of the “Gabala” vs. “Sabah” tie in the semifinals.

It should be noted that in the first leg, Shamakhi had claimed a 2:1 victory over Qarabag.
