Jafarov secures gold medal in Brazil boxing final

The final bouts have begun at the Boxing World Cup held in Foz do Iguachu, Brazil.

Axar.az reports that Azerbaijani national team member Saidjamshid Jafarov was the first to compete in the decisive final bout.

Competing in the 75 kg category, he faced Brazil’s Tauan Silva. Jafarov won all three rounds and secured a 5–0 victory (30–27, 30–27, 30–27, 29–28, 30–27), earning the World Cup gold medal and having the Azerbaijani national anthem played in Brazil.

It is noted that later in the night, Subhan Mamedov (50 kg) and Mahammad Abdullayev (+90 kg) are also set to compete in their final bouts. A day earlier, Nabi Isgandarov (70 kg) had already secured a bronze medal.
