John Stones confirms Man City exit this summer

John Stones has confirmed he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, ending a 10-year spell at the Etihad Stadium marked by domestic and European success.

Axar.az reports, citing Goal, that the 31-year-old defender announced his departure in an emotional video and social media post, describing his time at the club as life-changing and deeply personal.

“It has been my home for the past 10 years and it will be my home for the rest of my life,” Stones said. “I came as a kid and now leaving as a man… I lived all my dreams out and lifted all the things that I came here to achieve.”

Reflecting on his journey under Pep Guardiola, Stones added: “I don’t think it would have been anywhere near as successful without him… I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to spend so long with him.”

Stones joined Manchester City as one of the most expensive defenders in football at the time and went on to become a key figure in one of the club’s most successful eras.

He will leave the club as a free agent this summer as City continue a wider squad transition.
