The squad of Azerbaijan’s under-21 national football team has been announced.

Axar.az reports, citing the official website of the AFFA, that the list includes Lorenzo Mezzotero, a graduate of Neftchi and currently playing for the youth teams of Italy’s Sampdoria.

The 19-year-old Italian forward has been called up to Azerbaijan’s national team setup.

It should be noted that the U-21 team will hold a training camp in Baku from May 28 to 30, and then in Isparta, Turkiye, from May 31 to June 10. As part of the preparations, the team will play two friendly matches in Turkiye — against Bahrain on June 6 and Kyrgyzstan’s respective age-group team on June 9. Both matches, to be held at Sav Stadium, are scheduled to kick off at 18:00 Baku time.
