Qarabag and Neftchi to play behind closed doors

“Qarabag” and “Neftchi” teams competing in the AFFA Youth League will play their next two home matches behind closed doors.

Axar.az reports that the decision was issued by the Disciplinary Committee of the national association.

The sanctions were imposed after fans of both clubs were involved in a mass confrontation during a match between the teams.

In addition, Qarabag player Ali Ibrahim received a five-match suspension after being sent off in the 90+5th minute for insulting the opposing team’s bench. His teammate Tunar Gasimov was handed a three-match ban following a red card for aggressive behavior.

Neftchi player Nihad Omarov was also suspended for three matches for aggressive conduct.
